TCA Celebrates Bike Month with Expanded Programming, Prizes, and District-Wide Mobility Improvements

Tysons, VA
—Tysons Community Alliance (TCA) is rolling into Bike Month this May with a lineup of programs and on-the-ground activations designed to make it easier—and more fun—for people to bike throughout Tysons.

Anchored by the award-winning Tysons Trek & Treat program and Bike to Work Day celebrations, this year’s Bike Month lineup invites residents, workers, and visitors to explore Tysons in new ways while competing for prizes and engaging with a growing network of mobility infrastructure across the district.

From May 1-29, participants can sign up for the Tysons Trek & Treat Spring Challenge through TCA’s partner ConnectingVA for a chance to win prizes, including Velotric Fold One Plus e-bikes and Experience Tysons e-gift cards. The self-guided challenge encourages riders to visit destinations across Tysons while promoting active transportation.

Organized by Commuter Connections and the Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA), Bike to Work Day returns on Friday, May 15 with five pit stops across Tysons, including a TCA-led activation at Valo Park, alongside additional stops at The Boro Tysons, Mitre, Tysons Corner Center, and Capital One Center. Attendees can expect refreshments, giveaways, and community engagement opportunities throughout their morning and afternoon commutes.

This year’s Bike Month builds on a series of several major wayfinding and placemaking improvements led by TCA to support safer and more accessible mobility in Tysons. Recent efforts include the installation of 11 new trail wayfinding signs throughout the district, eight upcoming solar-powered Metro wayfinding kiosks scheduled for installation in June 2026, and newly branded signage on the Tysons water tower, one of Tysons’ most visible landmarks located atop one of the highest land elevations in the D.C. area.

“These initiatives reflect a broader commitment to making Tysons a place where it’s easy and enjoyable to get around without a car,” said Jason Zogg, Vice President of Place & Transportation at TCA. “TCA’s Bike Month programming and infrastructure investments reinforce our ongoing efforts to position Tysons as a connected, accessible, and people-friendly destination.”
