Melissa Beattie
Marketing Manager
Melissa has a deep interest in the intersection of communication and community-building, particularly within the realms of arts, music, and culture. A lifelong D.C.-area resident, she is passionate about creating exciting, inclusive spaces that bring people together and foster meaningful connections. As the Marketing Manager at TCA, Melissa executes dynamic, public-facing branding and marketing campaigns that celebrate the uniqueness and vibrancy of Tysons.
With experience spanning trade associations, nonprofits, and creative brands, Melissa specializes in event promotions, branding and strategy, social impact storytelling, content creation, integrated marketing, and public relations. She has a proven track record of securing high-profile media placements in major publications, amplifying visibility for the organizations she represents.
Prior to her role at TCA, Melissa served as Promotions Director for an iconic D.C. music venue and promotions company, where she led high-impact marketing campaigns to drive brand awareness and ticket sales for large-scale events in D.C. and at venues around the country. She also served as a Public Relations Manager for one of D.C.’s leading outdoor sculpture exhibitions, further deepening her passion for supporting art in open spaces.
Melissa currently serves as a Cultural Arts Commissioner for the City of Rockville, advising the Mayor and Council on arts programs and initiatives that enhance the city’s creative ecosystem. She is also a mentor for the National Independent Venue Foundation, guiding emerging marketing professionals in the live music and entertainment industry.
Melissa earned her B.A. in Communications from Marymount University and her master’s degree in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from Georgetown University.
Favorite thing about Tysons: Tysons’ burgeoning public art scene. Melissa loves how murals, installations, and other public artworks beautify the area while sparking conversation and connection within the community.
