Interim Chief Executive Officer

Drew Sunderland serves as Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Tysons Community Alliance, where he leads the organization’s efforts to advance Tysons as a dynamic and competitive urban center through research, partnerships, and strategic initiatives. Drew has played a central role in shaping TCA’s data-driven approach, helping to position research and market intelligence as a foundation for understanding trends, informing decision-making, and guiding the district’s continued evolution.

Prior to his current role, Drew led TCA’s strategy and research initiatives, overseeing the development of key tools such as the Tysons DataHub and the Tysons Quarterly Market Reports, which provide insights into market conditions, visitation patterns, and investment activity across the district.

Prior to his role at TCA, Drew spent over eight years at Tysons Partnership, serving as Deputy Director and Director of Communications, where he played a key role in advancing placemaking efforts, strategic communications, branding, and partnerships that contribute to Tysons’ growth and vibrancy. His career spans public media, civic engagement, and strategic communications, including roles at National Public Radio (NPR), the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and the United Nations Information Center. 

He holds a degree in Communications with a focus on Media Studies and Public Relations from American University.
