Friday After 5: Harold O’Neal Trio feat. Jeff Tain Watts and Kris Funn

The third concert in our Friday After 5 music series is taking place on Friday, August 18th at The Boro. The Harold O’Neal Trio feat. Jeff Tain Watts and Kris Funn will take The Boro Stage from 5-8 PM. These award winning artists are sure to put on a captivating show.

About the artists: 

Harold O’Neal is a highly accomplished pianist and composer. His incredible musical abilities have earned him numerous recognitions including fellowship to the prestigious Royal Society of the Arts. Moreover, The New York Times has compared him to greats like Duke Ellington, Kenny Kirkland, and Maurice Ravel. Most recently, O’Neal was part of the team that produced the Academy Award winning film, Soul. Click here to learn more about the artist.

Jeff Tain Watts is a world-renowned drummer. Over the past 40 years, he has played alongside numerous jazz musicians including Wynton and Branford Marsalis. Watts won three Grammy Awards while he was a member of the Wynton Marsalis Quartet. He majored in classical percussion at Duquesne University and studied jazz at Berklee School of Music. Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, Kris Funn began playing the trumpet when he was only four years old. At age 14, he added the double bass to his list of instruments. Funn would later go on to attend Howard University and obtain a degree in computer science. In his early 20s, he toured the world with alto saxophonist Kenny Garrett.
